Acne Redness! How to Treat Acne Redness

Redness is a common problem that's associated with acne. If you suffer from acne redness on your face, then you know how embarrassing it is when you go out and have people staring at you. You may be a teenager getting ready to go to prom or some other public event but that big zit is right in the corner of your cheek and you want to get rid of it in a hurry. You're not alone if you experience these types of problems because millions of people across the world also suffer from this and are seeking an effective acne redness cure, and so did I at one point.

One of the things you can do to reduce the redness is to use a face mask. You can apply a homemade face mask made from baking soda and water. Apply it evenly over the face and keep it on for 20 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water. This provides a soothing effect that prevents the redness.

Another thing you can do to reduce redness, while soothing your skin, is to apply some tomato, cucumber, or lemon slices to the affected areas.

Wash your face at least 2 times daily and give it pat dries after wash. Never try to get it all dry after wash as that will only lead to more redness and an increase in skin rashes and redness. Get a face toner that is well suited to your skin type in order to keep the skin moisture and fresh. Scrubs are also very useful and you may apply them on your face.

Get some ice cubes from your freezer. Use a clean cloth to cover the ice cubes. Or use an ice pack. Place it on the red marks for 10 minutes. It will make the redness of the blemish less noticeable, and is a good temporary way reduce acne redness.

Garlic also works very well. It can be applied fresh, or you can buy garlic oil.  Cut the garlic clove open, or pierce the garlic capsule and rub it on the affected area,  Do this on regular intervals. This will to reduce redness and swelling. Word of warning though.  Garlic is smelly and the odor will stay with you if you don't wash it off correctly.  However, lemon juice will eliminate the garlic smell.  Just spread a little over the area of the garlic, and rinse.

Particularly painful pimples require a shot of cortisone, which your dermatologist will of course tender and you can expect a reduction in the inflammation and redness within a few hours.
A reddened pimple is a serious enough situation to merit attention. But never in the form of pricking and squeezing it. Tips to cure redness in pimples are actually easy to follow and a clear, glowing skin is not too far away.
